Oscar-ehdokkuudet 2023: vahvoilla ovat mm. Elvis ja Everything Everywhere All at Once

Vuoden 2022 parhaat elokuvat palkitaan Oscareilla sunnuntaina 12. maaliskuuta. Ehdokkuudet on julkistettu. Pikaisesti arvioituna gaalan katsojalukujen romahtaminen saattaa hidastua, sillä tänä vuonna ehdolla on useita suuren yleisön suosikkeja, eikä ainoastaan pieniä draamoja ja elokuvista kertovia elokuvia.
Isoimmat hitit Avatar: The Way of Water ja Top Gun: Maverick ovat hyvin edustettuina. Eniten ehdokkuuksia sai omalaatuinen tieteiskomedia Everything Everywhere All at Once, joka on pienemmän yleisön suosikki, mutta yhtä kaikki selkeä ja juhlittu hitti. Näiden tapausten välimaastoon sijoittuu suosiossa ja ehdokkuuksien määrässä mitattuna se Elvis.
